WHITNEY MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART
This invitation was a prelude to the exhibition ‘Andrea Zittel: Small Liberties’ at the Whitney Museum of American Art at Altria. The artist had a specific idea already in mind for the direction of the show’s graphic identity, which she termed “Russian Constructivist meets Western.” Following this lead, a collage approach that utilized bold typography and exaggerated halftone imagery was adopted. The horizontal format was chosen for its relationship to the desert landscape in which Zittel lives and works.
