NOTHING MOMENTS PRESS
This paperback is one of twenty-four limited edition books created as part of the Nothing Moments Project. Each book began with a work of fiction by a contributing writer; this text was passed on to a contributing artist who made drawings in response to the story. Finally, the text and art were given to a graphic designer, and the project culminated in a fusion of writing, visual art, and design.
The design of “Three Boys Pose...” ignores the conventional structure of fiction books. The text begins on page one; the title of the book is highlighted (enlarged) directly within the text and is accompanied by author credits and copyright information. The provided artwork is presented in varying scales, thereby establishing the pacing of the book. As the chapters are written from several points-of-view, a different type setting was used for each voice. Chapter eight, a folk tale, is depicted as a ‘book within a book,’ with text reversing out of the black background for added differentiation.
